E-learning & web-based training

You can train your customers and employees with e-learning / web-based training. Here is an example.

As a technical documentation service provider, we at DOGREL focus every day on communicating complex content in a way that can be easily understood. With standardised e-learning tools this information can be easily prepared and reused for training your customers and employees.
Communicating specific product and process knowledge means more special challenges for a growing number of companies. Shorter product cycles, increasingly complex products and frequently fluctuating workforces make clear documentation with information that is aimed at specific target groups indispensable.

From operating manuals to web-based training
The operating manuals for your products already contain a great deal of useful information that can be reused for training purposes. Depending on the target group, this content must be either simplified or supplemented. When compiling information for beginner training courses, for example, it may be necessary to divide comprehensive descriptions into more concise units to generate simple step-by-step instructions. On the other hand, when training is aimed at service technicians, additional and more in-depth information is often required to convey more complex content effectively.

The right blend of methods
What is the level of knowledge of my target group? Can the trainees be reached on site or remotely? Which media can we use to convey the information most effectively? Does the information have to be communicated in different languages? These are just some of the questions you should ask yourself before creating an e-learning solution. The choice of the right medium also has a major influence on the success of the training courses. Videos and 3D animations are particularly suitable for some topics, for example for explaining technical processes and maintenance procedures. This means that text-free communication is generally possible, saving translation costs, and is particularly important for conveying information to an international audience. However, it may also still be necessary to put the most important information in writing so that the trainees can print out, save and file documents.

Easily creating and distributing content
Professional software such as Articulate 360 provides all the necessary functions for creating and distributing course material to trainees. The respective topics can be easily prepared with images using standardised templates. These tools basically work in a similar way to Microsoft PowerPoint – the content is contained on individual slides and the formatting is handled with slide master pages. Various formats are available for publication such as HTML5, PDF, Word etc. The course content is distributed by means of an online platform and an account management system that assigns the training documents to the respective users. The level of knowledge after each training course can be monitored and evaluated in interactive HTML5 format using various test options. This ensures consistent, standardised processes for your training workflow.

Typical applications
The possible applications of web-based training are varied. Many companies use it to show new employees their specific fields of responsibility. New product training sessions for sales staff and customers is also a popular option.  E-learning solutions are also often used in the service sector, for example for global training of service technicians.
